The Hall of Faith, Hebrews 11
All Saints Sunday

Oswald Chambers said, “Seeing is never believing; we interpret what we see in the light of what we believe. Faith is confidence in God before you see God emerging; therefore the nature of faith is that is must be tried.”(1)
The writer to the Hebrews explained faith with the lives of
the saints who went before.

Vss 1-2. Faith is not proof, it is assurance.

Vs 3. The saints of old lived it.

Vs 13. They understood that this world was not their home.

Vss 30-35a. Some saw God do great things.

Vss 35b-38 Many suffered greatly for their faith.

Vs 39. They left a testimony of faith, without living to see the promise.

Vs 40. We will share God’s Kingdom with them.

So then, faith is trusting God,
even when it doesn’t make sense.

Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
John 20:29
